Personal Statement

I am an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital.  In addition to seeing patients in the office at the Weill Greenberg Center, I serve as an attending physician on the inpatient services at New York Presbyterian Hospital and read and perform transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms.  I practice general cardiology with a focus on women’s heart disease, prevention, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, as well as take care of patients who have undergone heart surgery and interventional procedures.  I work closely with other physicians in the Division of Cardiology to provide high quality, compassionate, individualized patient care.

 

Biographical Info

Dr. Friedman was born and raised in Merrick, New York.  After graduating summa cum laude in Biology at Duke University, she attended New York University School of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.  She then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center in Chicago, IL where she served as Chief Medicine Resident.  After residency, she completed her fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at New York University Langone Health where she served as Chief Cardiology Fellow during her final year of training.

She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Society of Echocardiography.  She has published in the American Journal of Cardiology, the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography as well as co-authored chapters in cardiology and echocardiography textbooks.
